Four teams remain in the chase for the final playoff spot

DELAWARE, Ohio �??  Only three days remain in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League�??s regular season and all but two spots in the six-member postseason tournament have been solidified.

The first place Lima Locos (25-6), who rank No. 12 in the most recent PG Crosschecker summer baseball rankings, was the first team to clinch a spot in the playoffs. Grand Lake (25-9), Cincinnati (21-12) and Licking County (19-12) have also positioned themselves as locks in the tournament, which is set to begin Tuesday in Xenia, Ohio.

The remaining two spots are currently held by Southern Ohio (15-15) and Xenia (14-18), however, four teams find themselves within just four games of the sixth and final spot. Hamilton (11-20), Lake Erie (11-21) and Stark County (9-21) all have a chance to make the playoffs with five to six games remaining on their respective schedules.

The double-elimination tournament, which will be held at the Athletes in Action Complex for the second-straight year, will open up with a 12 p.m. contest on Tuesday featuring the No. 1 seed against the No. 6 seed. At 3:30 p.m., the No. 2 seed with take on the No. 5 seed, while the remaining two seeds will battle each other at approximately 7 p.m. The remainder of the schedule for the ensuing days can be found HERE.
